The past week has been, relative to the rest of the weeks of my Life, the most draining. It was nothing but work put to waste, of efforts put to shame and of mental and emotional States put to test. When you are Boss, your own dramatic (and violent!) reaction to events are forced to the barest minimum. You are reminded that your self, your ego and your sanity are all cramped at the bottom and considered unimportant in the totem pole of priorities. Far greater is your need to fix things, meet deadlines, be encouraging, listen, absorb and lead in letting go, moving on, and bouncing back. When you are Boss, it is a given to take risks and decide at every opportunity (no matter how uncertain you feel at the onset or how unprepared you are because the future is something you are not afforded to peek into). When you are Boss, you are expected to do the right thing, at the right time, decide (without an iota of doubt) and be firm no matter the cost. When you are Boss, you wish you know everything, have everything and can do everything just so every base is covered and all risks and twists foreseen. When you are Boss, you are expected to be a Guidance Counselor, a Prophet, a Magician, a Steady and Unfazed Pack Leader.
As a Boss, all i hope is that things go well, pray that all my staff (still) find fulfillment in what they do and ensure that I do not forget why I chose to be where I am.
