i am not yet a mom but i tell you, i so play the Pet Momma role seriously.
but this post is not about me and how fiercely attached and loving i am to my boys (and vice versa!).
this is about me being committed to my new role as a boss, a mentor and a manager.
every single day (since i started reporting to duty), i never leave home without praying because i know that i need His grace not only to comply with all the work expected from our Unit but moreso that i will be able to realize what i committed to do: to make my staff learn more and shine (and that they will be fulfilled even more with what they do!). i am conscious about my responsibility of making decisions, setting a good example and providing a conducive environment for work. beyond my expected deliverables, i know my role goes beyond statistics and good performance by our Unit.
i am blessed to be in a Unit where teamwork is already established and the staff are (literally) passionate, with initiative and driven. they are like a sponge, open to learn and inquisitive. am i challenged? yes i am! but beyond the challenge i feel, i am honored. i feel that i am given the opportunity to be part of their growth at work. i pray that i do not disappoint nor fail (us) and that we all learn from one another.
i mentor every day, and i learn (from them) as much as well. i think i become better every day too.
i hope and look forward to good days ahead.
i think, i am finally back home.

I love the last sentence/statement of this entry. Made me smile. I'm happy for you, Tita Pie! :)
I am sure you're one heck of a boss, mentor and manager! You're made for that kind of job, I think. :)
aaawww.. thanks Ket! and you know what the nice thing is about my team? bukod sa diverse talaga sila and fun kids, staff ko ang YL ng sseayp 2011. kaya kwento siya ng Ship experience niya and then she asks me how ours were, and pareho rin ang kalokohan ng mga tao! grabe! :)
