one reason that i do not like about keeping a blog is the self-imposed pressure to keep the entries coming, entries that bespeak of the very nature that make showbusiness and politics engaging: my writings should be sincere, provocative, entertaining, insightful, motivating.
since the boys got home, our lifestyle (and routine) have literally been altered dramatically. i found myself lacking sleep, eating late meals, busy fussing about. there have been a lot to write about i know but it seems that it does not translate to words, to actual blog entries. by the time midnight strikes, i am asleep on the couch, the boys by my feet. mr P comes home to a living room that could pass for a refugee area. there are poops and pee in select areas; two electric fans steadied and aimed off-center, where the boys and i are dozing off --- they on the floor, i on our leather sofa.
what is totally amusing about this sleeping arrangement is the fact that we (humans) did not force these pups to sleep there. initially, they were kept in their cage until the cool breeze from the electric fan knocks them into deep dog sleep. but these are pack dogs and it seems that they think we are "pack" (either we are their kind or they think they are humans). regardless, they are uneasy when you do not take them out of their cage so they could settle in their fave spot in the living room.
i usually watch TV lying down because Mr P decided that we stay downstairs until the boys are well-adjusted. it is during these times (around 11PM) when the boys insist to sleep on the floor, by my side (mr P is still at work). they do not howl, they do not whine and are unusually happily quiet. i open the door of their cage. they skip out of it. they horse around, wrestling each other. Lee follows me wherever i go. Bo stays put until he chooses to approach you to be cuddled. then when you look at them again, they are asleep (making those puppy sounds because of their puppy dreams.) the green comforter is ours but we made them use it for good. there was one night when Lee seemed to be sleepwalking, went straight to the door rug and slept. he wanted some cuddly warmth perhaps. so the comforter became a sleeping mat for them.
the routine is established. so long as someone is on the couch sleeping, they would have to sleep by the foot of that couch. if i leave for work and Mr P is left sleeping, they would go back to sleeping there after i feed them breakfast. then Mr P sends me an SMS that they are all awake, and after some feeding, they would be moved to their area by the back so he could clean up and sterilize the living room. he goes to work, i come home, and i bring them inside for feeding until they are asleep again. come 11PM, they insist to sleep near me. i do not mind.
last night, something funny happened. they were asleep while mr P and i were catching up on our fave TV shows. there was background music (ala Techno, where the beats are rhythmic and steady). the boys sat up, alert, watched TV. intense. since that TV show was downloaded from the Internet, mr P played back the sound, the boys bolted up, glued on the tv screen, as intense. to make sure it wasn't random, mr P repeated it, and the boys did that again --- bolting up, staring on the TV screen. the boys like music! it was hilarious.
it is weird that i have been blogging about our pups when i can talk about the elections next week. what is there to write about when i know that it is bound to fail anyway? i do not have faith in comelec and in our electoral system. sad but true.
so i keep on sharing about Bo and Lee here. i sound such a stage pet momma.
as i blog, i am worried because their poops are soft. i called Weng (their vet) right away. she is visiting tonight. i thank God because for first time pet parents, mr P and i enjoy a strong support system.
i wonder if i can already greet myself 'happy mother's day' this Sunday. that is another hilarious thought.
there are no more creative juices with me. only fun, animal-centric thoughts.

Aaaww, belated happy Mother's day! Ang cute 'nyo namang mag-iina! :)
MY aunts used to have dogs that sing. When she'd play the piano, they'd dance around and sing with her. I swear it was weirdly nice and hilarious! :)
che: thanks! nakakagigil lalo na kapag pasaway! i nag them, promise!
ket: hahaha! kinakarir ko ang pagiging pet "inay" ko. i'm tasked to give them their vitamins. in their eyes, i'm the vitamins' girl, and they stalk me! lol!
