(to be Consultant) --- i have all the time on hand and as much control of it.
it's like being in UP for the first time ever (imagine first day of Freshman Year or first day of dorm life) --- there is so much freedom, leg room and options that it IS overwhelming. it is empowering, yes. but daunting too. to be given responsibility yet as much discretion insofar as "doing things" is concerned. so long as you meet your deliverables, on time. (when getting good grades and probably honors are ideal in school, surviving life is something that is meant to be achieved in UP. in my case. #alibi)
although i do not encourage everyone to do Consultancy work right away. again, both the freedom and responsibility are enormous. there is pressure to NOT slack. while i am not known to be that conscientious (since i tend to cram, always!), i get to meet deadlines and i give excellent work. (i make sure i'm not that pasaway naman.
however, when the opportunity comes and you know that you can do such (Consultancy) work, grab it and accept the challenge. this work keeps you on your toes to learn more and be more --- more decisive, proactive and results-oriented.
despite the seemingly hard work, it is quite fun. i am enjoying it because i can diskarte more. i like that. that's why i loved my stay in UPD because it afforded me to impose rules on myself while basking in (too much) freedom and space. i was compelled to balance my life or else it would have been in total disarray.
i thank God for this blessing. while waiting for PNoy to sign my appointment papers, i am getting shaped and molded into becoming a better manager, something that only experience can provide.
