Thank You List 7

of course, nothing can beat answered prayers. Thank you Lord for my new work!!!!

i don't know when my appointment papers have been signed by the Big Boss but i was called to report to work last Friday so off i went to the office.. straight to a workshop meeting.  (i still have to know which Unit i'd be assigned to. i think, the Secretary would be announcing it during the flag ceremony on Monday, which only means that i should be there on time. it'd be odd not to be present when my return to work is announced, right?)

i have more than enough to be thankful for:

1. in prep for my new work, i did some smart shopping -- thrifty, affordable clothes in paisley and in plain-solid colors.  like i always do, i hoard stuff in different colors if i really really like them.  so i get a dress in tangerine and black, blouses in paisley in different hues and the ever, classic (boring) white polo, which i plan to hoard more of regardless of my size, i still think that white makes me look chic.

2.  slow-roasted angus belly from h-cuisine that is so perfect with their garlic rice.

3.  fafa M giving julia an ipad for her birthday.  generosity begets generosity.  julia has a big heart, and she deserves the best things in life.  i've always said that we are all blessed with loving partners (and they are too! ha!)

4.  seeing the 4D photo of my 3rd nephew -- Juan Inigo.  Thanks to technology, we all know that he takes good genes from the family, tangos ilong and all.  Inggo is going to be another kyoot small person born in the family by end-April.

5.  on our table: gising-gising (spicy, creamy and oh so rich!), dried fish (liwit-liwit from Pola, daing and tuyo), spam (and eating it with heinz catsup), pako salad --- why spend eating outside when i didn't have a job then BUT i have a table filled with yummy, homecooked meals?!

6.  finally off-Braces but ON-Retainers for a year.  i'm wearing one on my upper teeth already and on my lower teeth are wires at the back to firmly hold them in place, temporary but purposive.  all these make me talk less because i sound weird. (oh, everyone at home must have been more than glad!)

7.  going back to Dashing Diva for my mani- and pedi services.  i would never attempt to choose other technicians over those from DD.  the previous one, who did my nails at home, murdered my toes without my noticing it since my requirements were simple: painless cleaning, square shaped nails.  little did i know that he cut my nails unevenly at the root, which was a no-no in their industry. when my DD technician told me about the condition of my nails, i was angry and depressed for the whole night (but my anger stayed because i wanted to kill someone for murdering my toes.)

8.  Hugo and its technical strength --- the sounds and storytelling were excellent.  i am so taking after mr p already, looking at the technical aspects of the film when before i would only be looking after a really nice plot and if it would move me to tears.  now, i would eventually bawl my heart out but also be appreciative of how the sounds and all those nosebleed-cinematic aspects make the movie an effective one.

9. american idol is back, and we are back to being judges ourselves and picking our early favorites.  i hope jessica (fil-mex) goes through because she sings well, and she is Pinay.  i think there are better guy contestants now though.

10.  cougar town is back (on its 3rd season), and its pilot made me cry (read: engagement ep).  i am still a sucker for romance (reel and real), and i like how men think of ways to make their partners happy (if not happier!).  i honestly do not need a major prod proposal.  all there is to be is a simple, heartwarming (and unique!) way, and i would be crying AS IF i was being proposed to!

11.  yellow cab delivery at 2am! (what gluttons!) --- 4 cheese pizza, new york's finest (for mr p), shrimp alfredo, hot wings, twice baked potatoes.  why does sinful equate to happiness at most times?  and why does yummy=calories? life may not be fair at all times but IT IS FUN.

given my new post and my orientation tomorrow (i hope they tell me my metes and bounds so i'd know to what extent i could be thankful for in my posts! ha!), i am not too certain about blogging and my TY List, whether this would still be a regular one since i should be loaded with work and too tired to blog when i reach home.

however, i know that my friends read my blog, and all my friends are smart, and smart people can decrypt smart posts.

there.  this blog remains.
